[Contigency] Lesson Review (LO2) (13/2/15)

What I have done today:
- Helped with the ideas of the scripts.
- I have begun looking for music for the first section of the script. Currently, nothing appropriate or usable for the current section of the idea/narrative.

What I will be doing:
- I will have to start the storyboard with the start of the script.
- I will also have to come in on a Tuesday to do further work.

[Contigency] Lesson Objective (13/2/15)

Today I will be:
- Planning out the new narrative and story of the new idea. 
- Help create the name for the new idea.
- Plan out a storyboard once the narrative has been set.
- Start the script/guideline to help with the filming.
- Write up the new idea and add contingency where appropriate. 

[Contingency] Solution to 'All Hail the Chocolate Dragons'

So we ran into numerous problems with All Hail the Chocolate Dragons, such as:

• It wasn't funny enough to be a comedy, as making jokes in the format of a trailer is a lot harder than in say, a short film.
• Characters were too young for it to look like a professional production
• Locations were not fit for characters, such as every indoor location being too clean looking and overall non-sensical (such as anonymous around a window)
• The plot itself doesn't naturally fit any genre other than comedy.

Because of this we had changed:

• The genre of the film as it is now a crime/thriller
• The tone of the film as now instead of being lighthearted, it is now very dark in tone
• The plot, as instead of YouTube pranksters doing a big prank on anonymous, a guy's girlfriend is kidnapped and he has to follow orders from two masked people or the girlfriend dies. The guy's actions get worse and worse to the point where he becomes irredeemable by the end of the trailer/movie storyline .

[Contigency] Narrative changes

What ways can we change the narrative to make cohesive sense?
- Change genre(?)
- Structure i.e.
Problem - Equilibrium - build up to partial Solution - Second Equilibrium
Problem - Build up - Equilibrium - Cliff hanger
Equilibrium - Build up - Problem - Cliff hanger
Serious situation - Neutral situation - Funny situation - Ending

According to our current script/concept:
Comedy -
Problem: They get kidnapped by an anonymous person and they question their motives for doing what they're doing; Wacky Time.
Solution: They continue on what they naturally do; trying to be funny.
Build-up: They perform a series of pranks on any random person on a whim.

Crime -
Problem: A group of people have made a cryptic video on what they are planning to do: 'Wacky Time' footage just without the 'Wacky Time'.

What I need to do:
- Input more in to the product/idea.
- Edit what we currently have i.e. Create the product to create a narrative.
- Film less content and put together what we currently have.
- What is our genre?
- Watch film trailers. 

What worked:
- The editing worked early on the trailer.
- Use of cinematography i.e. shot-reverse-shot, over the shoulder shot

What needs to be done:
- Adjust the film to be a more specific genre - Considering that we currently don't have a specified genre
- To adjust our film to have a clear narrative but keeping it in a non-linear fashion.
- Don't aim to create a short film, aim to create a trailer.

Lesson Objective (9/2/15)

Today I will be:
- Continuing to do the storyboards and updating my blog.
- Add evidence to what I have done so far i.e. Storyboard scan
- Tutor Feedback to add to the blog

Lesson Review (LO2/LO4) (6/4/15)

Today I have:
- Continued with the storyboards and used the edit log to improve it.
- I have also created a edit log with the footage taken prior to this.
- I will finish off the rest of the storyboard with the final footage we will be taking by next week. The scenes that will be filmed will be the dialogue scenes and we will also be recording the audio to dub over the original that didn't have a great sound quality.
